Grant Support and Sponsorship
As a charity, grants and sponsorship form an important part of our funding.
Subscriptions from Nottingham Concert Band members cover such basic overheads as the hire of rehearsal facilities, insurance premiums and the cost of music. However, we are continually looking to develop the band with the aim of improving standards and enabling us to reach a wider audience.

Celebrating Nottingham Concert Band's 20th
Anniversary
We have been extremely fortunate to secure generous sponsorship from a number of sources to help support our 20th Anniversary activities. Sponsors include: Councillors
Barrie Cooper, Michael Cox, and Gordon Wheeler (Nottinghamshire County Council); East Midlands Computers; Unity Trust Bank; and Wilkinson Helping Hands.
Grant Support
We are very pleased to have been recently able to secure two major awards towards purchase of several large items.
Nottinghamshire Community Foundation
A grant of £3,146 from the Nottinghamshire Community Foundation has enabled each of our 65 members to be equipped with a specially-made stand banner to improve presentation at our concerts, thereby contributing to the creation of a strong visual impact to support the musical experience. The money came from the Nottingham & Nottinghamshire Grassroots Grants Programme, which receives its income from local benefactors, business and government agencies.
We thank Nottinghamshire Community Foundation for this generous grant.
East Midlands Airport Community Fund
Thanks to a grant of £804 from the EMA Community Fund, the band has been able to purchase a special portable podium from which our conductor can lead the band. The extra height has allowed him to see – and be seen by – the brass and percussion sections, whilst the back rail enables him to turn and talk to the audience without fear of toppling into the front row!
Once again, we extend our thanks to the EMA Community Fund for this most generous award.
Sponsorship
Concert and Event Sponsorship
Assistance in meeting the overheads of individual concerts is of enormous benefit, particularly where the aim of the event is to raise funds for a nominated charity or worthy cause. Recent beneficiaries from our concerts include:

Sponsorship of this nature has been received from Shop Smart, Waitrose Community Matters and Nottingham City Community & Cultural Board; such support is much appreciated and is rewarded with complimentary tickets and inclusion in programmes and commentaries, together with credits in publicity material and on the Nottingham Concert Band website.

Corporate Sponsorship
On a grander scale, Nottingham Concert Band is also actively seeking Corporate Sponsors on a seasonal or even annual contract basis. This would enable the band to invest in such areas as new uniforms, professional music stands, a PA system and large items of percussion kit.
Corporate Sponsors would be entitled to complimentary tickets, inclusion in all band programmes, on the website and the cover of any CD and in publicity material. During the course of the sponsorship contract, members of the band - comprising either the full band or smaller ensembles - would also be available to perform for corporate functions.
Further exposure of the band/sponsor relationship may also be considered, depending on the terms of the agreement.
