Concert raises £700 for Ukraine appeal

Shocked and appalled by the recent events in Ukraine, Nottingham Concert Band promptly organised a concert to raise funds for the British Red Cross Ukraine Appeal.

So, on Saturday 2 April, the band presented a free lunchtime concert at West Bridgford Methodist Church to an enthusiastic and supportive audience. The varied programme included an arrangement of Prayer for Ukraine and Kyiv, a march published just a few days before the concert.

Donations were collected at the concert and later raised £700 for the appeal, and the following messages were received.

From the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain – Nottingham:

Big thank you on behalf of everyone from the committee and from the Ukrainian Community to raise money that will be going to help people directly in need in such a critical time and in desperate times that we can only imagine. Thank you.

From the British Red Cross:
